The Tuned by STI Legacy was a special version of the Subaru Legacy (BL/BP generation, 4th gen) produced for the Japanese market and released from around August 2006. It was based on the Legacy 2.0GT spec.B variant but enhanced with Subaru Tecnica International (STI) performance components and styling. Only about 600 units were built across sedan and Touring Wagon body styles, making it quite rare especially with the 6-speed manual gearbox.
What Made It Tuned by STI
- Factory STI tuning from Subarus motorsport division (not just aftermarket mods).
- Brembo brake calipers and stainless braided hoses for better stopping power.
- STI 18-inch alloy wheels and sometimes STI body trim/spoilers.
- STI-specific interior touches: special seat materials (leather/Alcantara), STI badging, enhanced gauge cluster (260 km/h speedo) etc..
- 6-speed manual transmission (6MT) rare and highly sought after.
Only around 600 units of the Tuned by STI edition were ever produced (both sedan and wagon combined).
