3.5-tonne towing for MGU9 electric ute
MG has confirmed a $78,990 (plus on-roads) price, 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity and 430km of range for its MGU9 EV. Australia is the first market on the planet to score the brand’s fully electric ute, which offers a 236-litre frunk, 685kg payload and 6.6kW V2L capability.
Powered by a 102.2kWh LFP battery and dual electric motors, capable of 325kW of power and 700Nm of torque, the U9 EV features all-wheel drive and full-function four-wheel electronic air suspension. It supports 11kW AC charging, with DC charging from 20–80 per cent taking approximately 42 minutes.
Maximum charging is at up to 115kW. Inside, the it combines ute practicality with passenger-car comfort. It features leather front seats, dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 15W wireless charging and an eight-speaker JBL sound system.
The driver’s seat also features heating, ventilation and massage functionality. The MGU9 EV is backed by a 7-year warranty when serviced within the MG dealer network, and will arrive in Australia from Q4 of this year.
