Ford unveils MY26.5 updates for Ranger and Everest
Ford has taken the covers off its 2026.5 Ranger and Everest range, unveiling a new powerplant, alongside a revised lineup and special editions. On the ute front, prices start at $37,130 before on roads, with the XL Double Cab Pick-Up kicking things off.
From there, it stretches all the way to $90,690 for the off-road and performance-focused Raptor. The updated lineup features no fewer than 15 distinct engine-and-trim options. The most drastic change is the introduction of a new 2.0-litre single-turbo four-cylinder diesel.
Replacing both the single and twin-turbo four-pots of before, the new engine most notably features a conventional timing chain in place of the controversial wet timing belt setup, and an updated fuel injection system to improve economy.
It delivers 125kW and 405Nm, with peak torque available from 1750-2500rpm. It also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission that is now standard across the entire Ranger lineup. The 3.0-litre single-turbo V6 diesel still carries over unchanged.
With 184kW and 600Nm on tap, its joined by the retained 2.3-litre turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid in PHEV models, and the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol in the Raptor. It’s worth noting that both the 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines are capable of running on renewable diesel.
Vehicles running on HVO fuel are already in use by Melbourne Airport Corporation, as Ford Australia noted at the launch. Visually, the Ranger remains fairly similar to before, although dark exterior finishes have been chosen to replace chrome.
New wheel designs have been added to certain grades. Inside, all variants are now fitted with the larger 12.0-inch SYNC infotainment system, replacing the 10.1-inch unit previously fitted to lower model grades.
All variants including the XL now come standard with front and rear parking sensors, while XLT and above feature a new Trailer Connection Alarm. The Black Edition, offered with both engine options, represents a value-packed proposition in the range.
It blends darker exterior trim and all-terrain tyres with a simpler interior featuring cloth seats and a polyurethane steering wheel. The off-road-focused Tremor has also returned for a limited time, exclusively powered by the V6 engine.
It comes alongside another limited-run variant – the Wolftrak, which is set off by Zest Green highlights and an interior with dark green trim and leather accents. The Ranger PHEV lineup, due to arrive from August 2026 onwards, also sees some changes.
The work-ready XL model now replaces the XLT that previously kicked off the lineup, while the Sport and Wildtrak grades remain alongside it. All PHEV models come standard with a 12.4-inch instrument cluster, only available otherwise on the Platinum and Raptor.
The Sport grade now also receives a 360-degree camera and Pro Trailer Backup Assist as standard. Several drive-away offers are also available throughout the MY26.50 Ranger lineup including on the XL 4×2, Black Edition, Wolftrak, and all PHEV models.
Ford is also offering buyers a $4000 fuel card with select MY26.50 variants, along with a $5000 fuel card for buyers of select MY26.00 variants. The Ranger is currently the best-selling new vehicle in Australia and the updated lineup is available now.

It replaces both the Ambiente and Trend grades. A new 2.0-litre single-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine is the most notable change to the Everest. It replaces both previously offered single and twin-turbo engines.
Serving up 125kW and 405Nm and backed by a 10-speed automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel drive, it features a conventional timing chain in place of the controversial wet timing belt. An updated fuel injection system has been added.

Standard features on the Active include black 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, leather-accented seats, a 12.0-inch infotainment display, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Stepping up to the Sport and Tremor adds heated and ventilated seats along with a 360-degree surround view camera. Buyers of the off-road-focused Tremor are also able to remove the third-row seats as a no-cost option to increase boot capacity for their gear or accessories.
The Wildtrak has also returned to the Everest lineup, coming with unique Ignite Orange accents, Matrix LED headlights, unique seats with a powered third-row, and a panoramic moonroof. The flagship Platinum grade introduces a new Acacia Green hero colour.
It’s directly inspired by Aussie nature. All variants fitted with the optional Towing Pack now also come with a new Trailer Connection Alarm. The updated MY26.50 Everest lineup is available in Ford dealerships now.
