The Nissan Stagea Axis 350s is a very rare and special variation of everybodys favorite Nissan wagon. While its popular predecessor the 260RS was essentially an R33 GT-R in wagon form, the Axis350s is basically a Fairlady Z wagon, or even a Skyline Wagon if you prefer. It shares the same FM platform that the company used to produce the V35 Skyline (Infiniti G35), Nissan Fairlady Z (350z/370z) and even the R35 GT-R chassis was based on this platform.
While all 2nd generation Stageas have this platform, only the limited-edition Axis 350s came with the VQ35DE (Neo) V6 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Production numbers, while not totally confirmed by Nissan, are speculated to be no more than 200 units. They are incredibly rare to find in Japan.
Performance is strong and powerful for a sport wagon of its era. The VQ35DE produces 206kw (280hp) of power and 363NM (268 lb-ft) of torque, providing great low-end power and a consistent power-band as you rev up the RPMs. Axis models all receive a widebody aero kit, with a wider track, allowing larger wheels to plant the power to the ground. Speaking of power, all Axis 350s models are rear wheel drive, in traditional sports-car form.
In addition to performance upgrades, Axis 350s models all came with unique multispoke wheels, upgraded suspension (20mm lower than standard), and a custom Autech exhaust. Interior features unique to the Axis 350s included half leather seats, a leather wrapped steering wheel, upgraded sound systems, and a 240km/h speedometer.
While the 260RS and GT-R faced Stagea models have taken the limelight in the JDM wagon scene, the Axis 350s is a hidden gem and the last hurrah for the sporty Stagea wagon. We are very lucky to have this amazing example for sale here at ***. Please contact us today to schedule a test drive and experience the last MT sports wagon made by Nissan.
