This impressive 2009-built (Model Year 2010) W212 series Mercedes-Benz E500 Avantgarde sedan is finished in Pearl Beige metallic (794) with a black leather interior, the latter complemented by lustrous black ash timber trim. It has covered 213,664km and is in stunning original condition inside and out. It was first delivered by Marshalls Mercedes-Benz of Parramatta to a mature gentleman locally, and comes complete with two remote keys, all the original owners literature, and an up-to-date service log book (with authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership servicing up to 2016 and thereafter by reputable specialists) reflecting a history of meticulous maintenance and care throughout the cars life. By all measures paint, body, interior and mechanically this E500 presents like a vehicle with less than half of its mileage. This version of the E500 (badged E550 for the USA, Canada and Japan markets) is rapidly becoming an increasingly collectible model due to the fact that its 5.5L engine is one of the very last of the old school naturally-aspirated, big capacity Mercedes V8s (along with the AMG 6.2L unit) and represents the final days of a golden era in Daimler-Benz engineering.
Important features of this luxuriously-specified flagship sedan include electric front seats with 3-position memory, heating and cooling, and the multi-contour package (adjustable support in the cushion and backrest via switch-controlled air cushions); the Vision Pack (electric glass sunroof, and KEYLESS-GO push-button start along with keyless locking/unlocking and an electrically-operated bootlid); the Entertainment Pack (Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 surround sound system, digital TV tuner and DVD player); COMAND with satellite navigation, Linguatronic voice control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, auxiliary audio input, and CD-stacker; reversing camera; parking sensors front and rear; Thermotronic 3-zone climate control system with separate controls for the rear seats; dusk-sensing Bi-Xenon headlights with the Intelligent Light System and adaptive high-beam; LED daytime running lights; an electric retractable sunblind for the rear window and retractable sun blinds for the rear side windows; lane keeping and blind spot assist; collision warning system; tyre pressure monitoring; security system with alarm, tow protection and interior surveillance; a black ash timber/leather steering wheel; rain-sensing wipers and much more. Importantly, this example was also factory fitted with the optional Distronic PLUS autonomous radar cruise control system (code 233), a huge advantage for those who want the ultimate in ease for their long-distance touring. The E500 is suspended with Mercedes-Benzs renowned AIRMATIC system, bringing adaptive damping and self-levelling suspension with ride height control and two driving modes; and sits on 18-inch R32 5-spoke factory alloy wheels shod with high quality Pirelli P Zero tyres all round. The E500 is powered by the effortlessly smooth and refined M273 engine (the 5.5L unit being designated M273/E55), widely regarded as one of the most reliable and durable of the Mercedes V8s of the last 20 years. It remains comparatively simple, being naturally-aspirated and offering traditional port fuel-injection (which significantly reduces the carbon build-up which can afflict the later direct-injected units). It offers up abundant performance with 285kW of power and 530Nm of torque, able to propel this luxury sedan to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds. Torque is delivered to the rear wheels via the 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission, a unit also renowned for its reliability and longevity. These M273-powered E-Class Mercedes are comparatively rare and therefore increasingly sought-after by enthusiasts of the brand for their unequalled combination of smoothness, performance and long-term reliability and durability.
