
Pricing revealed for Volvo EX90 7-seat SUV
With three rows of seats, the Volvo EX90 boasts unmatched safety and refinement. The brand's most powerful and luxurious fully electric SUV ever, it's powered by a huge 111kWh battery pack, the EX90 will be offered in two trims.
The Plus Twin Motor delivers 300kW and 770Nm on its way to a 0-100km/h time of 5.9 seconds, while the Ultra Twin Motor Performance supplies a massive 380kW and 910Nm. It handles that same sprint in 4.9 seconds.
Each motor is matched to a single-speed transmission, and the battery pack supplies current to front and rear permanent magnet synchronous motors. Top speed is limited to 180km/h, and the EX90 can tow up to 2200kg.
The nickel manganese cobalt battery delivers an impressive range of up to 570km on a single charge for both variants. The EX90 comes with an 11kW AC charger as standard and can charge up to 250kW using a DC fast charger. A 10-80 per cent top-up takes just 30 minutes.
Powered by Safe Space technology, it is designed to be the safest Volvo ever made. It features an invisible ‘shield’, including state-of-the-art sensors spanning cameras, radars and LiDAR, all connected to the car’s high-performance core computers, where NVIDIA DRIVE runs in-house software.
The Volvo EX90 can also ‘see’ small objects hundreds of metres ahead, creating more time to inform, act and avoid. The sensors also contribute to improve the reliability and overall performance of Volvo’s assisted driving function Pilot Assist.
Inside the cabin, Volvo’s renowned seats feature plush Nordico upholstery, and both variants come with a full-width fixed glass panoramic roof that allows less than five per cent of UV rays through. A 14.5-inch centre screen is the gateway an infotainment system that features Google, built-in.
A high-end Bowers and Wilkins audio system features 25 speakers, including a ‘3D surround sound’ experience that delivers a studio or concert-like experience. Google apps and services including hands-free help from Google Assistant, Google Maps navigation and a host of other apps feature.
Wireless Apple CarPlay also included. Phone key technology is standard. The car maker’s well know commitment to sustainability is reinforced in the EX90 too, which contains 15 per cent of recycled steel, 25 per cent of recycled aluminium and 48kg of recycled plastics and bio-based materials.
