Punters hoping we'd see news of the Y63 Patrol in the coming weeks are set to wait a little longer, despite the launch of its Infiniti sibling overseas. Instead, Nissan Australia will undertake a significant tech update on the current Y62 platform.

Delivered in partnership with local automotive supplier Directed Technologies, the final Y62 offering gets a new 10.1-inch high-definition central touchscreen, which includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Twin USB ports (A and C) and a new wireless smartphone charging pocket ensure all devices remain topped up, while the Patrol’s new infotainment system unlocks a host of new functionality, including a new full HD wide angle reversing camera.

iGO street navigation and a 1-month free subscription to Hema 4×4 navigation are also included. Comfort still comes first in the Patrol, with the addition of the front row centre cool box to the Ti specification.

The option of seven (Ti-L) or eight (Ti) seats ensure there is room for everyone and everything. Intelligent 4X4 with electronic 4WD selection, a rear helical limited-slip diff, and hydraulic body motion control suspension all continue from the previous offering.

The 2024 Nissan Patrol continues to be offered in two well-equipped grades, the Ti and Ti-L — as well as the flagship Patrol Warrior by Premcar — and remains powered by Nissans 5.6-litre V8 petrol engine, with 298kW of power and 560Nm of torque.

This is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and adaptive shift control. Its 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity remains. The 2024 Nissan Patrol Ti is priced at $87,900, with the Ti-L at $100,600. The Warrior by Premcar will be priced at $104,160 - all plus on-roads.
