Lepas confirms Australian arrival of L6 electric SUV
Chery owned Lepas, which sits alongside Omoda and Jaecoo, has confirmed its first electric model, the L6, will launch in Australia in quarter four of 2026. It’s been designed to combine contemporary styling, advanced technology and everyday practicality.
The Lepas L6 represents the next step in Chery Group’s growing commitment to electrified mobility for Australian customers. The mid-size electric SUV has been developed with a strong focus on design, intelligent connectivity and refined driving comfort.
“The Lepas L6 represents an exciting new chapter for our business and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to bringing innovative, technology-driven vehicles to Australian customers,” Lepas Australia COO Lucas Harris said.
“As demand for electric vehicles continues to grow locally, the Lepas L6 will offer Australian buyers a compelling combination of sophisticated design, intelligent features and everyday usability within the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.”

The L6 BEV features a sleek exterior design highlighted by slim LED lighting signatures and a strong, modern stance, while the interior adopts a minimalist “less is more” approach with a focus on premium materials, comfort and space.
Key features include a panoramic glass roof plus a spacious cabin designed to enhance both driver and passenger experience. Powering the L6 is an electric drivetrain producing up to 160kW and 275Nm.
It delivers competitive performance for the segment alongside efficient energy management, with an estimated range of 450km. Additional Australian-market specifications, pricing and launch timing for the Lepas L6 will be announced closer to the vehicle’s local arrival.
