General Motors’ hybrid Corvette will go on sale in Australia next year, followed by updated Silverado trucks and in 2025, the launch of the eight-seater Yukon SUV.

The new model additions are part of an expansion of the GMSV brand sold in Australia.

GMSV dealerships will offer only the highly-equipped GMC Yukon Denali with the first vehicles expected to arrive in showrooms in early 2025. Pricing and specifications will be confirmed before the start of sales.

Alongside the announcement of the new GMC Yukon, GMSV said it will next year launch the hybrid model of the Corvette, known as the E-Ray, and the updated MY24 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and MY24 Chevrolet Silverado HD.

GM said that the Corvette E-Ray is the quickest accelerating Corvette ever made because of its additional electric drive unit on the LT2 6.2-litre V8 engine.

This makes it the most technologically advanced Corvette ever and, importantly, for the first time in the model’s life, it gives the Corvette all-wheel drive with the e-AWD system giving the car superior traction in all weather conditions.

Upgrades to the Chevrolet Silverado start next year for the MY24 1500 range, the ZR2 and LTZ Premium.

The MY24 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will now be standard with an active performance exhaust system providing customers the flexibility of a ‘standard’ exhaust experience - or dialling up the limiter to hear that traditional V8 rumble.

The MY24 ZR2 will also get an enhanced list of standard equipment, including rear camera mirror, multi-colour 15-inch diagonal head-up display, electric tilt/telescoping steering column adjustment, adaptive cruise control and a Bose premium audio system.

GMSV has announced that the MY24 Chevrolet Silverado HD is scheduled to start the remanufacturing process at Dandenong this month, with the first wave of vehicles expected in showrooms as early as December.

GMSV director Greg Rowe said the brand had “made a real impression in the local market and, thanks to this success, we’ve been able to make a strong business case for additional models and this latest arrival is testament to these achievements.”

“I’m excited to confirm the new GMC Yukon, will be remanufactured here in Melbourne and will be available in Australia and New Zealand.”

The announcement coincides with GMSV’s third year of operation in Australia and the completion of the 8000th remanufactured Chevrolet Silverado from the Premoso facility in Dandenong.

“The GMSV journey started in November 2020 with the launch of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, together with the announcement of the very first manufactured right-hand drive Corvette, the C8,” said Mr Rowe.

“The popularity of GMSV and the vehicles we sell through our network has grown substantially in a few short years and this success was what inspired us to investigate the possibility of adding an all-new model to the line-up.”
